Playbox Sand
I just found out that the Playbox Sand brand is ok to use as a substrate for Hermit Crabs. Its costs about $4.95 a bag at Home Depot. Too cool, it totally saves my wallet for my new tank.

Playbox Sand is not available from Home Depot any more but you can get it at Playboxsand.com $7.99 50lb bag.
Playbox sand is also great for aquariums and terrariums, they also have #6 white gravel and a #9 white gravel. They are all 99.9% silica free, it us made from Pure Crushed Marble.
